Space Week
Space Week is Ireland`s newest national STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) week. The Junior room had great fun enjoying all sorts of Space related activities including learning about the planets in our solar system, astronauts, reading space books and stories, art and project work and much much more. Maith sibh!
We use a handy poem to remember the planets of our Solar System.
My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
WHAT WE
LEARNED a massive blackout leaves millions of people without power. It can also
leave communications disrupted and GPS signals disrupted and magnetic compass start going crazy. The sun is the hottest thing in the universe
it is also 93 million miles from EARTH. And if you didn’t now the sun is a star and if you were
wondering you can fit about one million EARTHS in the sun.
Our 4th,5th and 6th class made a space table there was books and posters brought from home we also did space art and it was the best of fun.
Our junior room made Aliens and rockets out of legos and construction sticks
This was art made by junior room who also brought posters of space from home. Maith sibh
Our junior room made a comparison of the planets in the solar system using fruit
