Kilcoe Science 21

 We had great fun planting lots of bulbs and seeds so far this year. We planted lettuce, garlic, tomatoes.  For spring we planted crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths. This term we are hoping to plant sunflowers and onions this term. 

  What you see here is our green flag board. Our green flag committee is made out of 5th and 6th. We have green flag meetings every Friday.  Some of us made posters that said words like..... Everyone has a right to life No one should have to live in poverty or Think of the nation We are ruining the future of our POPULATION. One of our most liked ones is The sea levels are rising now's the time to make a change. The future of the planet is in our hands. For green flag we also did about fair trade. Fairtrade mean that the producer is getting a fair amount of money for their produce. Did you know that only 1 in 3 bananas sold in the UK are fairtrade. Aswell as learning about fairtrade we had a fairtrade breakfast and baking. For the baking we did banana bread, scones, croissant, chocolate, hot chocolate, muffins (blueberry and chocolate) and bananas. We also collected fairtrade stickers.                                                                      We met every Friday and some person took the picker pals pack home which included: two pickers, plastic bags, gloves and hi-vis. We found all types of glass, plastic, tyres, broken buckets and broken traffic cones.  We cleaned our local areas including beaches.                                                              We had great fun doing the Picker pals programme and we cleaned up a huge amount of rubbish. 

                                                                                                     We learned about all the famous bridges around the world .            We  also built bridges out of lego and it was so fun.                                                                               We built the Golden Gate Bridge out of K'nex.                      ...

Lego We do (STEM) We received Lego boxes for 2 weeks from the Education centre. We got about 5 or 6 boxes of the Lego. My friends and I built a car with a motor and we used the ipads to drive them. It was great fun and I really enjoyed it. We came up with different ideas too that weren’t on the instructions. We also learned how to put the motor on the right way through trial and error. We also added on our own designs to the car.
